Discontinued after years of unanimous praise as one of the most pure, full-throttle, quintessential Speysiders going around. Grab some of the last stocks before collector mania kicks in!

The age statement Nadurra (Gaelic for "natural") has been described as one of the most popular (and pure) expressions ever made by Glenlivet. The antithesis of the 12 & 15 year olds, it became for some the preferred dram in the entire Glenlivet portfolio. No wonder, given its 16 year old / cask strength / zero chill-filtration credentials and highly accessible price point. As a showcase for Speyside's juicy fruit'n'malt profile at a level of intensity rarely experienced, it became a jealously guarded secret amongst several malt enthusiasts. There was considerable shock when it was declared 'discontinued' in 2015, following on from the deletion of the ubiquitous 12 Year Old. We've recently managed to secure more stocks at a very fair asking price.

Maturation is undertaken in first fill American Oak Casks for the full period before bottlling at natural strength. Considering Australia's high taxation on liquor, this Speyside beauty provides sensational value across the board.Note: ABV may vary from batch to batch.

Tasting note: [BATCH 1110L tasted]. Pristine, bright pale gold colour. Offers a wonderfully expressive stewed pear lift, as well as vanilla and other sweet spices. Further inhalations discover malt, straw and dilute honey. Entry features generous, gently bitter-sweet flavours of honey drizzled cereals and cocoa continuing into the concentrated, juicy, stewed pear mid palate. Potent, yet the balance at 55% here is nothing short of brilliant. Finish follows through with a secondary flavour wave that gets top points for length, which is rare. Doesn't let up with rich fruit and cocoa cereals repeating in a very prolonged and warming aftertaste. Hints of unripe pear at the fade. Not only does Glenlivet finally get some grunt, but the price now makes for an extraordinary buy.
