Glenfiddich Havana Reserve 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Speyside, Highlands, SCOTLAND
$599. 00
Bottle
$7188.00 Dozen
ABV: 40%
This will be high on the list of Glenfiddich bottles for collectors as it was banned from sale in the USA due to the Cuba / Havana references and thus re-branded. Later batches became 'Gran Reserva' which was replaced with 'Caribbean Rum Finish', while the whisky in the bottle remained much the same.

Other reviews... Nose: Rich and rounded with clean malty notes. Chocolate, caramelised banana, some citric notes, orange pulp, toffee and spice. Palate: The chocolate comes back giving a sweet, balanced dram. Good mature malt character. Finish: Chocolate, coffee and orange peel. Comment: Good balance with the rum at no point overwhelming the whisky. American readers will have to smuggle it into the country along with their Cohibas. -Dave Broom, www.whiskymag.com
