Morgon is located in the hills of the town of Villié Morgon in northern Beaujolais. The climate is continental (hot dry summers and cold winters) and the small plots where this wine is grown receives a southeast exposure overlooking the valley of the Saône. At 200-300 metres, these 50+ year old vines thrive on old granite rich in iron oxide. Côte du Py is the hill of volcanic origin that sits in the heart of the Morgon appellation. Approximately 30% of this wine is matured in oak.

Shows excellent depth with a dark red black core and a bright dark red purple hue. Aromas of cherries and scorched earth are followed by some new leather and spice. Light weight and very elegant the initial fruitiness of the red and sour cherry flavours is counterpointed by a back palate of earth, dried herbs and spice. Dry finish with the fine grained tannins showing some grip. Aftertaste of red and sour cherries, dried herb infusions and earth.
Cellar 2-3 years.
Alc 12.5%
