Maturation took place in small oak barrels for 18 months. Opaque black dark crimson red colour with deep dark crimson black hue. The nose offers up scents of ripe blackcurrant and dark mulberries followed by a hint of choc mint with some spicy cedar end notes. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses flavours of ripe blackcurrant and dark mulberry followed by some vanillin cedar and spice. Dryish finish with slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, vanillin cedar and spice.
