Bordeaux Classics at below cost price!

We are excited to offer some big name Bordeaux wines from the 2007 vintage at phenominal prices (less than their original 2007 en-primeur pricing and well below our normal cost price). These wines are the ones to drink whilst you wait for your 2009 and 2010 wines to arrive and mature. Robert Parker sums up what most described as a difficult vintage: As a wine critic, my first and foremost responsibility is to report on the quality of the wines, and there were some very fine efforts produced in 2007. The vintage can be best summarized by the following tasting note, which basically characterizes the finest wines of 2007. "The finest 2007s tend to be dark ruby colored with purple highlights, sweet, ripe berry fruit similar to black cherries and black currants, medium body, silky tannins, low acidity, and pure, round, charming personalities with good equilibrium. By and large, the wines lack density, structure, and serious long term aging potential. Most will be drinkable as soon as they are bottled (actually, many are so precocious, they could have been gulped down as barrel samples), and should age surprisingly well for 10 to 15 years. Truthfully, most consumers will probably love the style of the vintage’s top wines because they are so flattering, seductive, and fruit forward." - Robert Parker
Whilst the scores are perhaps not classics, nor are the prices, but certainly the pedigree of these estates is.

Other Reviews….
One of the stars of the vintage, the 2007 Montrose boasts a deep blue/purple color as well as a sweet bouquet of creme de cassis, crushed rocks, and spring flowers. Dense and opulent with silky tannins, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, a long finish, and no hard edges, this beauty should drink well for 15+ years. Drink 2010 - 2025.
