Tasting note: From an outturn of 334 bottles, this middle-aged Ben Nevis will have fans smiling. All the distillery’s typical notes are here, starting with vanilla-laced barley, stewed pear and apple on the nose, following through in an impressively full-bodied, oily malt. The sweet fruity edge towards the finish comes with a little bite - a small addition of water fixes that - but even uncut, the balance and length are pretty good.
