From the wine making team that assembled New Zealand Deutz, the Lindauer Methode Champenoise offer excellent value, and almost the same degree of finesse. The trick with this particular wine is not to serve it to cold, otherwise the subtle strawberry pinot flavours are very hard to find. Delicate damask pink colour, with yeasty nose and fine persistent bead. The palate displays delicate strawberry flavours with creamy texture and good levels of acidity, giving the wine a crisp finish. An excellent aperitif style.

RETASTED 15/09/1999: A blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Deep pale gold colour with a hint of pink. Fine bead. Subtle nose, some toasted bead, and grapefruit aroma, but quite subdued. Creamy palate with nutty biscuit and yeast lees flavours. Crisp finish. Cellar 1-2 years. An aperitif style.
