Shipping Heat Policy
If you choose to have your wine order held in storage due to high temperatures, please be aware this may cause an extended delay in shipment, particularly for orders destined for Western Australia and inland areas.
When the Policy Applies: Our heat policy applies when selected or requested through January 1st to March 31st and when temperatures exceed 30°C or at our discretion where we believe there may be a risk of heat exposure. You may request immediate dispatch at any time by emailing us, however this will be at your risk. Please note insurance does not cover wine affected by heat in transit.
Shipping Schedule: We monitor temperatures between Melbourne and the shipping destination. We will only ship your order once a window of milder temperatures appears. While we aim to ship during these cooler periods and avoid delivery on hot days, unforeseen delays can occasionally occur. Nicks Wine Merchants is not liable for any fluctuation in the weather forecast or if your order is delivered outside of the estimated timeframe.
Order Processing and Tracking: All orders are securely packed in heavy duty cardboard upon receipt which helps keep the wines as cool as the surrounding environment allows. As a result, we cannot add to an order that is currently being held. Orders are shipped with courier or Australia Post. Tracking information will only be provided once your order has been dispatched during a mild-temperature window.
Delivery Advice (Summer Months): During the Summer months, we advise having orders shipped to a business address or a location where someone will be available to receive the delivery. Deliveries are not door-to-door; parcels remain in warehouses or depots while in transit.
