Scorpo has for some time sat comfortably within the highest rank of Australian cool-climate winegrowers, quietly composing excellent wines and steadily raising the bar year upon year. The planning, planting, nurturing and honing of the vineyard absorb the attention of trained horticulturist and landscape architect Paul Scorpo. The process of perfecting the site continues, with closer plantings and more precise clonal selections the latest developments. This is consistently a shining example of Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a greenish tint around the edges and a watery hue. Refined white peach, ripe pear and dried honey aromas intermingle with faint cashew, biscuity nougat and spice. Mid weighted and showing plenty of flesh, the appealing palate is layered with rich white peach and pear fruits which overlay a back drop of dried honey, light spicy cashew and subtle infusions of gun flint. Excellent intensity with a gentle mid palate creaminess, finishing dry and fresh with a long generous aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
