Sourced from hand harvested and hand tended plots throughout the north western Barossa Valley the Woodcutter’s Shiraz is fermented in a mixture of cement, wooden and stainless steel vats for 6-7 days and then basket pressed to well-seasoned hogsheads and French oak foudres for 12 months.

Rich, plush and succulent, the 2018 Woodcutter’s Shiraz is blessed with a level of fruit intensity and power rarely found at this price.

Impenetrable inky black colour with a very deep dark purple black hue. The nose is unmistakably Barossa delivering an assemblage of dark plum, crushed blackberry, liquorice and blueberry scents which are trailed by inky vanillin cedar and spicy earth notes. Dense, rich and opulent in its texture, the palate is drenched with succulent dark plum, liquorice and blackberry fruit which is underpinned by elements of vanillin cedar, inky earth, traces of fennel and spicy pepper. Youthful but plush and lavish it has velvety yet structural tannins and finishes with good freshness. Superb power and depth for its price with a long moreish aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
