$419.88 Dozen
Cellar: 5 - 6 Years (2026-2027)

Thirty percent of the wine was matured in new Bordeaux oak barriques. The balance went to one year old (40%) and two year old (30%) Bordeaux barriques for a period of 14 months.
Pitch black in colour with a deep dark red black hue. Spicy red to black currant aromas mix with black olive, cedary tobacco like notes and dried herbs. Rich blackcurrant and red liquorice fruits flood the full bodied palate providing it with ample volume and weight. Lying underneath are notions of cigar box, earthy black olive, dried herbs and spice. Ripe chewy tannins provide a great framework and firm up the finish which is both long and generous.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.8%

Other Reviews….
From the highly regarded Riversdale Vineyard planted in '97 on gravel and clay soils. Cold-soaked for 12 days, then fermented and macerated for 18 days, matured for 14 months in French barriques (30% new). The tannins are obvious, but the wine will flourish in bottle for decades. Drink by 2048.
