Yabby Lake’s second label, Red Claw, regularly delivers great value across the range. The warm extended summer of 2018 resulting in an intensely flavoured Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir that’s both rich and expressive, making it a real standout at its price. Produced with the inclusion of 25% whole bunch fruit the wine was matured in French oak puncheons for 10 months.

Generous, supple and powerful with a long moreish finish

Semi translucent dark red core with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Fragrant red to dark cherry and strawberry aromas tinged with a hint of violets morph into gamey forest floor like characters and spicy anise. Flooding the palate with great intensity are delicious rich dark cherry and ripe strawberry fruits which are both generous and supple in their feel. Nuances of forest floor, some meatiness, lightly scorched cedar and spice the back drop. Silky smooth tannins. Outstanding power wave with a long and very moreish finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
Whole bunch ferments and matured in used French puncheons. If there's a better value entry pinot noir I haven't met up with it. An utterly delicious tapestry of red and purple fruits sewn through a fine web of tannins, the finish long and convincing. Drink to 2029.
