Matured in French oak. Bright dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Perfumed aromatics of violets, ripe red cherries and strawberries blossom from the glass trailed by earthy forest floor notes, hints of anise and spicy cedar. The palate is both elegant and supple in its feel with rich red cherry, strawberry and subtle anise flavours having an earthy tone. Light vanillin cedar and spice characters sit underneath. Well integrated silky like tannins with a powerful and savoury finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews….
A perfect introduction to Tasmanian pinot noir generally and Pooley in particular. A core of succulent fruit, spiced black cherries and plums with a hint of forest floor and orange zest with oak imparting flavour and tannins. There's depth and complexity with supple tannins. Everything sits just right. Drink by 2028.
