Moss Wood’s entry level Cabernets, Amy’s, is a Bordeaux styled blend that delivers great value. Sourced from the Glenmore vineyard just north of Yallingup it’s a composition of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 8% Malbec and 8% Petit Verdot. Maturation takes place in 228 litre French oak barrels, with no new oak used, for a period of 18 months.

A delightful Margaret River blend that puts on an impressive display of depth, richness and freshness.

Impressive depth of colour with an inky black heart and a deep dark red black tinged hue. A mixture of red to blackcurrant and mulberry fruits fills the nostrils with ample volume followed by vanillin cedar, lightly dusted tobacco and bay leaf notes. Medium bodied, the palate is endowed with bright rich fruits that include red and black currant, dark cherry and ripe mulberry. Lying underneath are elements of spicy cedar, light earthy tobacco characters and infusions of bay leaf. Finishes with a youthful freshness, beautifully polished yet structured tannins and a long elegant aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
Moss Wood's Bordeaux blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec and petit verdot. Deep but bright crimson-purple foretells what is to come: a rich yet refined medium-bodied wine, oak and tannins present but not the least obvious. Drink by 2038.

An attractively fresh array of mulberry and red-plum aromas with a rose-like floral edge, too. The palate has a very supple, succulent core of fleshy, sleek tannins that carry bright raspberry and mulberry flavors fresh and long. Great balance and vibrancy here. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec and petit verdot. Drink now. Screw cap.
