2018 Journeys End Naturist Chardonnay

Even though the majority of this wine was matured in neutral oak, with only a small proportion in new 'Vicard' French oak barriques, the end result is a fairly full bodied style that will only fill out further with time. Winemaker Ben Riggs has added back an additional 10% of tank fermented juice to provide freshness and vibrancy to the final wine.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a slight glimmer of green to the edges and a watery hue. Elevated nectarine, dried honey and lemon butter scents intermingle with hints of bees wax and spice. Nicely textured flavours of pear and ripe nectarine meld with lemon butter, dried honey and spice nuances. Finishes dry with good balanced freshness, excellent drive and a long aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
