2018 By Farr GC Cote Vineyard Chardonnay

GC is Nick Farr’s tribute to his father Gary and what he has achieved in the Geelong region and also what he has contributed to Australian Chardonnay and Pinot Noir over a 40 year career. The wine is matured in French oak, 35% new, for approximately 10 months.
Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Potent aromas of white peaches and ripe nectarine melded to dried honey sail out of the glass. Biscuity nougat, faint gun flint and spice notes then follow. Rich, creamy and intensely flavoured the palate is nonetheless a shade more elegant than previous vintages. Fleshy white peach, nectarine and dried honey flavours fill the mouth backed by elements of cashew, biscuity nougat and spice. Finely tuned acidity counterpoints the wines textural attributes. Magnificent depth with an exceptionally long, textured and refined aftertaste. An outstanding expression of Chardonnay.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
