Dark red core with light black edges and a light red hue. Lifted ripe dark cherry aromas mix with hints of anise, dried herbs, forest floor, smoked meats and spice. Rich, ripe dark cherry and spicy strawberry flavours show plenty of weight and intensity, elements of anise, lightly toasted oak, dried herbs and forest floor make an appearance on the back half. Silky textural feel with very well integrated, polished tannins. Excellent power wave with a very long and expansive aftertaste.
Drink this ripe style of Pinot over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 13.2%

Other Reviews…..
40yo vines, hand-picked, 20% whole bunch, 80% whole berry, 12 months in French oak. A comparatively pure and elegant bouquet is promptly followed by a feisty palate merging plum/cherry fruit with spicy/savoury nuances and a lingering finish. Drink by 2032.
