2017 Mountadam Vineyards Eden Valley Riesling

Sourced from the western Mountadam High Eden vineyard planted by David Wynn in 1968. Brilliant water like colour with a faint glimmer of green around the outskirts. Strong aromatics of lemon and lime infused with talc burst out of the glass followed by orange rind, green apple and a subtle stony minerality. Tightly coiled yet intensely flavoured the palate’s lime and lemon flavours have a laser like focus with nuances of orange rind, talc and mineral also evident. There’s a sense of austerity to the mouthfeel. Finishes dry with racy acidity and a long aftertaste of lemon, lime, talc, orange rind and a delicate minerality. Riesling was a real highlight of the 2017 vintage and this is a superb rendition.
