Cellar: Drink now - 6 Years (2019-2025)
ABV: 13%

From a block planted in 2008 that would normally be destined for the Quintet blend. Matured for 16 months in oak, 10% new, it has a very small portion of Merlot (5%) in it to fatten out the mid palate ever so slightly.
Deep dark red black colour with a bright purple red hue. A fragrant nose offers up spicy red currant and red cherry aromas infused with bay leaf over some light dusty cedar and subtle fresh herb infusions. Medium bodied with an elegant feel, the seamless fusion of all of the palate’s components result in a wine of great balance. Refined red currant and cherry flavours gently infused with bay leaf have an eloquent sense of weightlessness overlaying a light earth, dried herb and spicy cedar back drop. Finishes with fresh acidity, finely tuned tannins and a long elegant red fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13%

Other Reviews….
Black jellybean, menthol, hedgerow, blackcurrant and raspberry. Medium-bodied, juicy burst but with black olive and pencil/earth savouries, buoyant, fresh, complex, dusty emery tannin, and a long and briary finish. Such a great drink. 94 or 95 points. Drink 2019-2028.
