Domaine des Perdrix was taken over in 1996 by the Devillard family-who have a history of wine-making in Burgundy spanning five generations. Prior to the Devillard family's arrival, most of the domaine's production was sold to a trade firm, with the result that the Domaine was not well-known, despite being on some of the best terroirs in Burgundy. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges, showing good depth, and a bright dark red hue. Scented violet and freshly crushed red cherry aromas intermix with strawberry, a whiff of sour cherries, light earth and fresh herbs. Light youthful palate with vibrant red cherry, winter strawberry and a dash of sour cherries meeting up with subtle infusions of violets and fresh herbs. Finishes dry with bright fresh acidity, fine grained tannins and a savoury medium length aftertaste.
Cellar 3-4 years.
Alc. 13%
