The outstanding 2016 Shotfire Shiraz showcases the families impeccable resources and winemaking skills. Maturation took place in American oak, 40% new, for a period of 14 months.

Packed with rich opulent fruits this lavish production from Thorn-Clarke delivers terrific bang for your buck.

Superb colour featuring an inky black core and a deep dark purple black hue. Ascending from the glass are pronounced ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate aromatics with toasty vanillin oak, confectionary and pepper also chiming in. Jam packed with flavour and delivering terrific value this bold, traditionally styled Barossa Shiraz is awash with succulent ripe blackberry, dark plum, liquorice and subtle dark chocolate fruits. Underlying elements of toasty oak and blackpepper follow on. The seductive, opulent feel of the fruit counterpointed by robust tannins which provide some chewiness to the finish. Excellent length with a long ripe blackberry, liquorice, dark plum, toasty vanillin oak and blackpepper aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
