Rolf Binder’s RHB Shiraz bears his father’s initials and is a tribute to his traditional winemaking style of rich full bodied reds. The fruit was sourced from a number of vineyards located in various sub regions of the Barossa Valley with a portion of Eden Valley (33%) fruit also included to give the wine more complexity. Maturation took place in 16% new American oak and 13% new French oak barrels, with the remainder a mix of 2 year old hogshead barrels (46% American & 25% French) for a period of 22 months.

Irresistibly rich, plump and silky yet perfectly balanced.

Impenetrable inky black colour with a deep dark red black hue. Potent aromatics of liquorice, dark plum and ripe black cherries waft out of the glass with toasty vanillin cedar, fennel, spicy mocha and pepper notes ensuing. Rich, plush and silky the palate is caressed with succulent liquorice, dark plum and blackberry fruits. Some ripe black cherry, smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and blackpepper elements are also present. Lavish textural feel with super smooth tannins, terrific power and a very long opulent aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
