2016 Penny's Hill Footprint Shiraz

Produced from the most outstanding 10 rows of the best block of Shiraz fruit on the Penny’s Hill vineyard, this wine was matured in French oak barriques of which 50% were new for a period of 18 months.

A rich, power packed McLaren Vale Shiraz

Impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue showing tremendous colour saturation. Hedonistic aromas of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark chocolate soar from the glass with vanillin oak, mocha and spice ensuing. Rich, opulent and large scaled with a thick mouth coating texture, the palate is swamped with ripe blackberry, liquorice, dark plum and dark chocolate flavours. Underpinning the fruit is vanillin oak and some spicy mocha characters. Exceptionally concentrated and powerful, solidly built tannins come across as velvet like beneath the lavish layers of fruit. Long conclusion of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark plums, vanillin oak, confectionary and spicy mocha.
