Domaine des Perdrix was taken over in 1996 by the Devillard family-who have a history of wine-making in Burgundy spanning five generations. Prior to the Devillard family's arrival, most of the domaine's production was sold to a trade firm, with the result that the Domaine was not well-known, despite being on some of the best terroirs in Burgundy. Aged in French oak for 15 months of which 30% was new. Deep dark red black tinged core with a dark red hue. Fragrant ripe dark cherry aromas infused with violet intermix with aromatic herbs, incense like notes and light spicy cedar. Light in body with good power and a fresh elegant feel, ripe red to dark cherry and subtle strawberry flavours intermingle with some fresh sour cherries, earthy incense infusions, garden herbs and spicy cedar. Structured, finely grained tannins finishing with a lick of bright acidity and a pretty medium to long aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 13%
