2015 Zonte's Footstep Chocolate Factory Shiraz

Sourced from the McLaren Vale sub district of Blewitt Springs the wine was matured in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak hogsheads for a period of up to 12 months.

Packed with succulent black cherry and liquorice fruit, this scrumptious McLaren Vale Shiraz delivers amazing value for money.

Outstanding depth of colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. The nose provides a strong whiff of liquorice and black cherry fruit aromas overlaid by fennel and smoky cedar with peppered dried meat end notes. Rich, gutsy and densely packed with a powerful core of juicy liquorice and black cherry fruit spanning across the breadth of the palate then melding into some smoky vanillin cedar, dried meats and faint fennel infusions with a peppery conclusion. The concentrated opulence of fruit perfectly counter pointed by robust yet fine grained tannins giving the wine a rich chewy textural feel. Excellent drive with a long peppered liquorice, black cherry, dried meats and subtlety smoked spicy cedar aftertaste. An absolute steal given the quality/price ratio.
