The Jimjoca vineyard is one of Stonier’s most highly regarded vineyards located 2km east of Balnarring. In outstanding years it’s released as a single vineyard bottling, 2015 being one of the strongest vintages in the history of Mornington. Nearly 15% of the blend was fermented separately as whole bunches. The ferments were pressed to French oak puncheons for 6 months maturation (14% new), prior to blending and then receive another 3 months maturation in the same barrels.

A ripe, seductive Pinot embellished with rich dark fruits that makes for incredibly moreish drinking.

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Perfumed nose with aromas of violets, ripe dark cherries and strawberries sailing out of the glass trailed by anise, gamey forest floor like notes and spicy cedar. Rich, supple in texture and boasting an exceptional power wave of flavour, the delicious palate is decorated with generous ripe dark cherries, anise and strawberries which meld into elements of subtlety smoked spicy cedar, forest floor and faint dried herb elements. Silky smooth tannins. Finishes long and seductive with an aftertaste of dark cherries and ripe strawberries shaded by anise, forest floor and spicy cedar.
Superb drinking over the next 4-5 years.
