2015 Sidewood Sauvignon Blanc

Brilliant water like colour with a very faint tinge of green around the edges. Elevated aromatics of light passionfruit intermixed with herbaceous grassy gooseberries and citrus are followed by fresh asparagus end notes and a hint of capsicum. Intense flavours of herbaceous gooseberries and subtle passionfruit meld into some grassiness and fresh asparagus characters. Clean crisp dry finish. Long aftertaste of herbaceous gooseberries, subtle passionfruit and grassy asparagus characters.

Estate-grown, hand-picked and chilled before whole bunch pressing, free-run juice cool-fermented, matured on lees in tank for 5 months. The bouquet is correct, the palate with unusual length and persistence to gently tropical fruits, presumably why the wine won a gold medal at the Melbourne Wine Awards '15. Drink by 2016.
