This new wine from Rolf Binder bears his father’s initials and is a tribute to his traditional winemaking style of rich full bodied reds. The fruit was sourced from a number of vineyards located in various sub regions of the Barossa Valley with a small percentage of Eden Valley fruit also included to give the wine more complexity. Maturation took place in 20% new American oak and 10% new French oak barrels, with the remainder a mix of older hogshead barrels for a period of 22 months.

Rich and sleek with a soft fleshy mouthfeel and fantastic length this is a first class rendition of old school Barossa Shiraz.

Totally opaque dark red black colour with a dark red hue. Pronounced blackberry liqueur, black plum and liquorice aromas blossom from the glass over spicy vanillin oak and mocha. Rich and silky with medium to full body weight the palate is decorated with succulent ripe blackberry, black plum and liquorice flavours which sit over a back drop of lavish vanillin oak, infusions of mocha and spice. Expansive plush textural feel with velvety tannins. Great length with a long finish of ripe blackberries, black plum, liquorice, mocha, spicy vanillin oak and scorched earth.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
