Magnificent density of colour displaying an impressive inky black dark purple core with a deep dark purple hue. Tightly coiled yet with a brooding intensity to it the nose reveals scents of earthy dark cherries, blueberries and liquorice followed by infusions of graphite, some meatiness, leather and blackpepper. The palate has an inky like concentration to it with tightly wound flavours of earthy blackberries, liquorice, infusions of graphite, new leather and spicy pepper. Dry finish with firm chewy tannins providing great structure. Long tightly knit aftertaste of earthy dark fruits, liquorice, graphite, leather, spicy dried meats and black pepper.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 13%

Other Reviews….
Crozes Hermitage excelled in 2015 and all three of these releases from Chapoutier are more than notable. The 2015 Crozes Hermitage Les Meysonniers offers slightly more complexity and depth, with notes of currants, blackberries, smoked herbs and earth in a medium to full-bodied style. It has a big mid-palate and should drink nicely for 7-8 years.
