2015 Five Geese Old Vine The Pippali Shiraz

Aged for 18 months in oak. Totally opaque midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of dark plum and liquorice merge into some dried meat, black olive and blackpepper characters with a hint of spicy vanillin cedar also present. Full bodied the palate is a little more forthcoming than the nose being filled with luscious spicy dark cherry and liquorice flavours which intermingle with some meatiness, smoky cedar and blackpepper. There’s a sturdiness to the tannins which provide great structure and some dryness to the finish. Meaty textural feel with a peppery aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, liquorice, smoky cedar, dried meats and spice.
Cellar 5-6 years.
