Brilliant very pale straw almost water like colour with watery hue. Intense aromas of rose petal and lychee leap out of the glass followed by some musk and spice. The palate is relatively light in weight and texture with flavours of fresh lychee, musk and spice. Clean crisp finish showing good acidity. It lacks the renown power of the varietal and requires some time in the bottle to fill out. Aftertaste of lychee, citrus and light spicy musk.
Cellar 2-3 years.
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews….
Harvested and made using the same methods adopted for the Riesling, but with a much lower yield of 4 tonnes per hectare. Notwithstanding the immediate pressing, the wine has a distinct blush-pink edge to the colour, and a volume of varietal fruit well above most gewurztraminers, including many of Pipers Brook Vineyard. Rose petal and spice aromas lead into a precocious display of tropical and crystallised cherry flavours on the palate. Drink by 2017.
