"An accent on lime, lemon blossom, sea spray, herbal, minerality and bright acidity".

Oliver's winemaker, Corrina Wright is a big fan of Vermentino as a warm climate varietal. "Vermentino's widely planted in warmer parts of Europe like southern Italy, Spain, and warmer parts of France," she explains, "and it can produce exceptional wines very well suited to our Mediterranean lifestyle".
She recalls standing in the middle of Chalmers vine nursery on a day where temperatures reached 50 degrees, and watching Shiraz and other traditional vines lying flat and dropping fruit while Vermentino appeared unaffected. Of course, she also favours it for its flavour. It results in a lighter styled white that's both easy drinking and food friendly. This wine also forms part of Oliver's "Small Batch" range (just over 2600 bottles were produced). As different varieties & blocks show their strength in different years, Corrina highlights those that perform best.

This is made without the use of oak and is best suited to early consumption, preferably with a plate of fresh, South Australian seafood!

Brilliant water like colour with a faint greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. The nose displays aromas of citrus, light pear, dried herbs and mineral. On the palate citrus and tropical fruit flavours are to the fore followed by some mineral with an intriguing nutty almond twist on the very dry finish. Excellent textural qualities with medium to long aftertaste of citrus, tropical fruits and dried almonds.
