Fraser Gallop’s Parterre Cabernet takes its inspiration from some of the great wines of Bordeaux displaying their finesse and structure whilst still allowing the Margaret River fruit to shine. The outstanding 2013 vintage is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot, 3% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Franc matured in a combination of new (40%) and second use French oak for 18 months.

Rich, yet poised and elegant this is a superbly balanced Margaret River Cabernet.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Intensely aromatic nose with scents of blackcurrant and ripe mulberry rolling out of the glass over cedary tobacco characters and a hint of black olive with subtle spicy bay leaf end notes. Medium bodied the palate is layered with beautifully ripened blackcurrant and mulberry fruit subtlety infused with cedary tobacco characters, dried herb infusions and spice. Superb refined tannins are perfectly integrated with the fruit. Excellent balance with a long savoury aftertaste of blackcurrant, ripe mulberries, cedary tobacco characters, dried herb infusions and spice.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews….
Still bright crimson-purple; a totally delicious and stylish Bordeaux blend; the bouquet is fragrant, the medium to full-bodied palate swoops high and low with cassis, spice, bay leaf, cedary oak and beautifully detailed tannins - and only 13.5% alcohol.
