2013 Fraser Gallop Estate Parterre Chardonnay

100% barrel fermented in new and second use French barriques for nine months this excellent Chardonnay features a brilliant very pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. The nose displays good intensity with delicate white peach aromas intermixed with cashew and biscuity oakfollowed by a faint hint of nougat and some flinty matchstick characters. Medium weight the palate possesses a rounded almost creamy like texture counterpointed by some fresh acidity on the finish. Mouthfilling flavours of delicate white peach, cashew and gun flint overlay some citrus and light biscuity oak. Excellent persistence finishing clean and dry with a long aftertaste of white peach, cashew, flinty characters and biscuity oak.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
