The Castorani Winery based in Abruzzo has a history dating back to 1793 and is currently owned by former Formula 1 driver Jarno Trulli. Primitivo means 'early ripening' as the grapes accumulate a lot of sugar early in the season. The early ripening creates a wine that is big, luscious and full of fruit.

Opaque dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. Lifted ripe black cherry and liquorice aromas intermix with hints of tar and dried cherries followed by spicy lightly scorched earth end notes. Rich luscious black cherry, liquorice and dried cherry flavours fill the palate over earth, dried herb infusions and spicy vanillin cedar. Velvet smooth tannins. Aftertaste of ripe black cherries, dried cherries, liquorice, earth and spicy dried herbs.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc 13.5%
