2012 Schulz Benjamin Shiraz

Outstanding totally opaque inky black colour with a very deep dark purple black hue. Nosing reveals aromas of liquorice, blackberries, toasty oak and dried meat characters with blackpepper end notes. Medium to full bodied the palate has flavours of black cherries and liquorice overlaid by some toasty clove like characters with blackpepper on the back palate. Dryish finish with relatively firm but fine grained tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of black cherries, liquorice, toasty oak, scorched earth and blackpepper. It’s a touch too toasty.
Cellar 5-6 years.
