The fruit for this Pinot was sourced from a number of specifically chosen low cropping vineyards from the southern valleys of the Wairau Plain, including the Omaka Valley and the mouth of the Waihopai Valley. Maturation took place in a combination of new and older seasoned French oak.

Semi translucent dark crimson red colour with crimson red hue. The nose shows good perfumed lift with scents of ripe dark cherries and dark plums followed by some meaty game like characters and spice. Soft and supplely textured the palate is very fruit driven with ripe dark cherry and plum flavours dominate underlined by some meaty cedar and spice. Soft velvety tannins. Good power with medium to long ripe dark cherry, plum and spicy meaty cedar aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2013-2015)
