Totally opaque inky black core with a deep black crimson red hue. Nosing reveals ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas followed by some dark plum, subtlety integrated vanillin oak and spice notes. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses a soft supple texture along with a relatively refined flavour profile of blackberry, dark plum and subtle liquorice followed by light vanillin oak nuances and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Excellent length with long aftertaste of blackberry, liquorice, subtle vanillin oak and spice.

Other Reviews…
Impenetrable purple-crimson; the bouquet is redolent of spiced, poached plum, blackberry and dark chocolate, the palate at once luscious yet refined, the flavours intense yet not jammy, long but not tannic. A prime example of not assessing wine by numbers; the grapes were picked at precisely the right time, a point as the French would have it. Fabulous value. Drink by 2042.
