2012 Maxwell Little Demon Shiraz Grenache

In 1871 Scottish scientist James Clerk Maxwell proposed a thought experiment, that involved a hypothetical creature acting as a gatekeeper between two compartments to sort gas molecules according to their speed. At first glance, such a system could potentially create energy from nothing… theoretically impossible given the laws of physics.
This hypothetical gatekeeper became known to physicists as Maxwell’s Little Demon, and has stirred debate in the science community for more than a century.

Produced from 77% Shiraz co-fermented with 8% Viogner which was then blended with 15% Grenache. Maturation took place in seasoned French oak hogsheads. Superb inky black dark purple colour with dark purple black tinged hue. The nose exhibits lifted scents of ripe blackberry and liquorice followed by some black raspberry and spice. Big and joosy the palate is bursting with rich succulent flavours of ripe blackberry, liquorice and black raspberry with a peppery back palate. Velvet smooth tannins. Excellent depth with long plush aftertaste of ripe blackberry, liquorice and pepper.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2016-2017).
