It was only in 1920 that Magloire Archambault started planting vines on the family estate after he returned from war. Today, the estate is owned by the Saget family and the 45 Ha are located in several villages of the Sancerre appellation, covering all the different soil types: caillottes, griottes, "terres blanches" and Silex.

Perhaps the most notable feature of the estate is the underground cellar, which doubles up as the most visited site in Sancerre, where one can find a state of the art winery sheltered by layers of limestone. The "Domaine de La Perriere Sancerre" sources fruit from a selection of four different sites with different geological characteristics in order to maximise complexity. The Sauvignon vines are of a 20 year old average.

Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinctive greenish tinge on the outskirts and watery hue. The nose displays herbaceous grassy scents alongside some unripe gooseberry followed by some lime, dried herbs and mineral. Light and dry the palate features grassy characters intermixed with flavours of dried herbs, asparagus, citrus and mineral. Clean crisp acid finish with aftertaste of grassy herbaceous asparagus, citrus and mineral.
Drink over the next 1-2 years (2014-2016).
