2012 Clare Wine Co. Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured in 20% new French oak with the balance in 3-4 year old barriques for a period of 12 months. Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red black hue. The nose offers up scents of dark plums and blackcurrant alongside a hint of mint with underlying cedary tobacco characters and spice. Medium to full bodied with ripe plummy blackcurrant flavours to the fore followed by some spicy cedary tobacco characters and a touch of bay leaf. Dryish finish with a slightly chalky, solid underlying tannin structure. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, spicy cedar, tobacco and a hint of bay leaf.
Cellar 3-4 years.
