2012 Aventino Tempranillo

‘A rich chewy Tempranillo sourced from vines aged between 60-120 years.’

Produced from 100% Tempranillo, 15% of the wine was matured in a combination of new French, American and Hungarian oak barrels for 4 months. this wine displays an opaque black purple colour with a dark purple hue. Lifted ripe black cherry aromas are intermixed with a touch of liquorice followed by some subtle new leather and spice notes. Medium to full bodied the palate features rich black cherry and liquorice flavours with underlying leathery earth like characters and a spicy chewy finish. Dryish solid tannins. Long black cherry, liquorice, subtle new leather and spice aftertaste.
