Released into the world of winemaking in 1999 after seven years teaching physical education, Tim McNeil has already worked alongside the likes of Mark Barry to help carve out the iconic Jim Barry “Armagh” Shiraz and also their highly regarded Watervale Riesling. In 2005 a new challenge beckoned with an opportunity to work with Kevin Mitchell at Kilikanoon and to also start creating the first Tim McNeil Wines. McNeil's dry grown, tiny five acre plot of Riesling is located on Springvale Rd, Watervale, home also to Knappstein’s Ackland and Grosset’s Springvale vineyard. McNeil has secured himself a full time job with this exceptional release.

Brilliant very pale straw watery colour with greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. Lifted lime and citrus notes are to the fore followed by some orange rind and mineral end notes. The palate delivers zesty and intense flavours of lemon, lime and orange rind with a crisp flinty mineral infused finish. Excellent concentration and length with long aftertaste of lemon, lime and steely mineral.
Enjoyable now or will cellar another 5-6 years (2012-2018)
Alc 12.5%
