2011 Fraser Gallop Estate Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

Brilliant very pale straw almost water like colour with watery hue. The nose displays lifted herbaceous grassy top notes followed by some unripe gooseberry, citrus and mineral. The palate shows excellent concentration with mouthfilling flavours of gooseberry, some herbaceous grassy characters, citrus and dried herbs. Clean crisp finish. Medium to long aftertaste of herbaceous gooseberry and citrus.
Drink now whilst at its vibrant best (2011).

A 70/30% blend, 29% was barrel-fermented and spent two months in new French oak. The bouquet is fragrant and flowery, with passionfruit and citrus, the palate with great purity, line and length, grapefruit, oak and perfectly balanced acidity in a continuous stream of flavour carrying through to the aftertaste. Will develop superbly. Drink by 2015.
