A magnificent example posessing intense varietal character and a Grand Cru Burgundy like powerwave in conjunction with a supple, silky texture. In fact, one of the best Pinots to come out of Yarra Valley in recent memory.

Clare Halloran has produced a Pinot with impeccable balance from a season she considers the best she's seen. The cool nights and warm days of summer followed good rainfall in the spring time, allowing the vines to work with ease and the fruit to reach ideal levels of flavour and colour set. The wine has been blended from the best fruit parcels grown on the heritage blocks of TarraWarra Estate at 27 and 23 years of age.

Semi translucent bright dark crimson red colour with crimson mauve hue. Superb perfumed nose of ripe dark cherries, violets, strawberries, anise, some light toasty oak and spice. Light to medium weight and elegantly textured but possessing outstanding richness and power the palate delivers a wave of ripe dark cherries, ripe strawberries, anise, light toasty oak and spice flavours. Velvet smooth tannins with exceptionally long and very persistent aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, strawberries, anise and spicy cedar. A must try for any Pinot enthusiast.
