2010 Poggio al Tesoro Mediterra

A blend of 40% Syrah, 30% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon that has been aged for 8 months in second use barriques. Opaque black dark red colour with dark red purple hue. Nosing reveals scents of black cherries and some liquorice which overlays earthy cedar, a touch of leather and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses generous black cherry flavours alongside some liquorice which are followed by some earthy cedar, leather and spice. Dryish and firm tannin structure which gives the wine a chewy mouthfeel on the finish. Medium to long black cherry, earth, leather and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
