2010 Longhop Shiraz

A superb value priced, fleshy styled Shiraz that was matured for 14 months in French and American hogsheads and bottled unfiltered.

The winemaker has done a great job to make such a young wine so immediately drinkable.
Totally opaque black purple colour with deep black purple hue showing excellent glass cling. The nose is quite youthful as expected but nonetheless possesses excellent intensity with inky liquorice, blackberry and dark plum aromas. Full bodied the palate is filled with an abundance of lavish ripe fruit. Liquorice and ripe blackberry flavours are to the fore filling every corner of the mouth followed by some dark chocolate and spice. Slightly inky on the finish. Fine grained tannins with opulent texture and long aftertaste of dark blackberry, liquorice and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2011-2015)
