The 2009 vintage in the Barossa Valley encountered perfect, mild ripening conditions early in the growing season, including one of the coolest Decembers on record, followed by a major heat event in January, leading to low yields but an exceptional harvest of dark ripe berries. The final result is yet another flamboyant, busty Barossa Babe of near perfect voluptuous proportions and intense fruit richness. Barrel maturation took place in 100% New French oak for a period of 24 months.

A flamboyant, busty Barossa Babe of near perfect voluptuous proportions and intense fruit richness.

Totally opaque inky black crimson colour with very deep black crimson hue. The nose exhibits a lifted aromatic profile of ripe blackberry and liquorice followed by some dark chocolate notes, toasty vanillin oak and spice showing excellent intensity. Possessing an almost liqueur like richness and texture as well as an unreal level of concentration the palate delivers explosive flavours of luscious ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate with some underlying toasty vanillin oak and spice. Velvet smooth tannins with very long flamboyant, liquorice, ripe blackberry, dark chocolate and spicy vanillin oak aftertaste.
