A blend of 68% Grenache, 21% Shiraz and 11% Mourvedre that was matured for 12 months in seasoned American oak hogsheads. Very deep near opaque dark crimson red purple colour with deep crimson purple hue. The nose displays lifted notes of ripe dark raspberry and black cherry followed by some liquorice, confectionary and spice. Medium weight the palate is a little tighter than the 2008 at the same time in its evolutionary path but still quite generous. Ripe dark raspberry and liquorice flavours are followed by some blackberry with a spicy back palate. Fine grained, slightly dryish but balanced tannin structure. Good length with medium to long aftertaste of spicy black raspberry and liquorice.
Cellar 2-3 years (2013-2014)
Alc 14.5%
