2009 Dowie Doole Merlot

Displaying an opaque dark red colour with deep dark red mauve hue this wine contains a 10% Cabernet Sauvignon component. The nose displays top notes of mulberry followed by some tobacco, cedar and spice. Quite plumb and fleshy the palate delivers a generous ripe flavour profile of mulberry and plum followed by some spicy cedar. Very soft fine grained tannins with aftertaste of mulberry, ripe dark plum, light toasty cedar and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2011-2014).
